Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026

Overview

PortChecker is a free TCP port reachability checker. This policy explains what information we process and why.

Information We Process

IP Address

When you use the port checker, our servers receive and process your public IP address. This is technically necessary to perform the TCP connection test. We use your IP address to:

  • Display your detected public IP on the page
  • Perform the TCP connection check against your IP
  • Apply rate limiting to prevent abuse

We do not persistently store individual port-check results tied to your IP address. Rate-limiting counters are held in memory and are discarded when the server restarts or after a short window expires.

Server Logs

Our infrastructure may generate standard server access logs that include IP addresses, request paths, timestamps, and HTTP status codes. These logs are used for operational monitoring, debugging, and security analysis. Log retention follows the hosting platform's standard policy.

Google AdSense

This site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and other tracking technologies to serve personalised or contextual advertisements based on your browsing activity. Google's collection and use of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can manage your ad personalisation preferences through Google Ad Settings.

Cookies

PortChecker itself does not set first-party cookies. Google AdSense may set third-party cookies as described above.

Third-Party Services

The site is hosted on Fly.io. Network-level data (including IP addresses) is processed by Fly.io's infrastructure. See the Fly.io Privacy Policy for details.

Your Rights

Because we do not maintain a persistent database of user data, there is no individual data record to retrieve, correct, or delete beyond what standard server logs may retain under the hosting platform's policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
